What a financial planner does
(and what makes us different)

We all know what an accountant, solicitor or engineer does.
But few people have a clear idea of what the job of a financial planner
involves. You might be surprised to discover that it’s not all
about discussing investments – in many ways that’s the least important
aspect. The most meaningful part, the part we enjoy the most,
is talking to people.

Getting a fresh sense of direction

Before we discuss anything to do with money our focus is you.

We would like to get a sense of who you are, your family and
interests, what you do by way of work and what aspirations you have
for your future. How can we possibly begin to help you to plan,
and become financially well prepared for the future, until we know
and understand all about you?

We’ll work together with you to come up with some very clear goals
and discuss ways of overcoming those obstacles you may feel are
holding you back financially.

Then, we’ll discuss the basics of sound money management
and the straightforward ways you can use them to become increasingly
financially resiliant.

This is what some of our
clients have to say

“He’s focussed on us as people. He sees the money, our money,
as a means to an end for us, rather than as an end in itself.

“No mention was made of products or investing.
The conversations were meaningful, in the sense
that he discussed things in terms that we could understand
and related them to our personal situation.”

“I am eternally grateful to him for his sensitivity
and kindness when I lost my dear wife.  He took the time
to guide me and deal with the inevitable practicalities at a vulnerable
and stressful time.” M J Hammond – retired director.
